Journey to “The Healer”

Written by ~ Sandy Blaser, Healing Rain to the Nations

For those who are facing the unknown and may be enduring a life of suffering, I encourage you to read my testimony…. hrn.sandyblaser.com/testimony/

In 1991 I began a journey of tremendous suffering; my faithful Friends began sharing the promises of God with me in special, unique ways.  One friend began giving me index cards with scripture’s of encouragement.  Another began sharing written pages from her personal Prayer Journal.  Others came to my home to sing praises & quote promises over me!  Others brought nourishing food for the body & soul.  There was just a tremendous outpouring of God’s love from our community!  It was such a blessing to watch as my friend’s faith also began to grow stronger as they made this journey along beside me! But, even though they loved me deeply, they could not make this journey with me. This was a rugged road I had to travel all by myself.  And sometimes it seemed mighty lonely.

Deep down I knew that my help must come from the Lord.  I began spending much time listening to worship music as I sat at the feet of Jesus searching the Bible for healing scriptures & promises (this was before computers).  I then choose the scriptures that really spoke to my heart and wrote them down on index cards.  Along with scriptures others had given me; I taped Gods Word all over my house. (Bathroom mirror, doors, kitchen cabinets, windows etc., etc.)

These Scriptures served as a constant powerful reminder of God’s Faithfulness, His Compassion and His Power! For this is what God says about HIS Word…

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:11

When my eyes feel upon the words I had posted, I stopped and quoted the scriptures out loud and then began praising the Lord for my healing and for supplying all our families needs.  But after while the promises of God sunk deep into the depths of my soul, and my cries were no longer for my own personal needs, but for the needs of others.  My prayer time grew into a deep expression of worship and love for my Heavenly Father!  And there in the midst of my trial, I began to be transformed!

You see, there is power in the written/spoken Word!  As I dwelled on HIS Promises, something began happening inside of me.  Worry & fear no longer had a strong hold!  Even as my physical world crumbled around me, my Spirit was being renewed, and my Faith was beginning to soar to new heights!  Thus I began a journey into the unknown with a sheer blind, unshakable faith!

Throughout the years of my journey, I have found God’s Holy Word is Powerful & Living, Sharper than a double-edged Sword!  And yes, God is so very faithful to HIS Promises!  And believe me, this is so very important when all else fails you and there is nothing else to cling to!

So if your faith is being challenged, I encourage you…Let your focus be upon the “Healer”, not the healing!!  Look to the Author & Finisher of your Faith, for His timing and His plans are ever so perfect!  Take time to listen closely for that still small voice!  Press in to the heart of the Father and trust Him wholeheartedly.  Surrender to His perfect will and ways and give HIM all authority to be glorified in you & through you!  And when you do, don’t be surprised at what you may experience!

God’s Word says “Seek Me, you will find ME, if you seek me with ALL your heart”!  You will stand amazed in His presence!  For when we approach the Throne of Grace, seeking “The Healer”… Guess What!…..Miracles Happen!!
