In the Hollow of Your Hand

Written by:  Sandy Blaser, Healing Rain to the Nations

On the horizon dark clouds are gathering.  As the thick fog comes rolling in, my vision becomes clouded as fear grips my soul with its cold fingers.  As the Tempest begins to rage, in the distance I hear approaching, a continuous nagging of never-ending lies, “there is no hope, no used to try, you are a failure”.  As my vision is clouded by a mist of deep despair, fear begins to shroud my mind.  I find myself sliding into a weak and helpless state, so all alone.  Yet somehow deep within the recess of my mind, I began to hear a whisper–a promise that I have hid in my heart, “I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”(Joshua 1:5) But even as I cling to that promise, yet the storm rages on all around me. I see no end in sight.

Suddenly, somewhere deep within my soul arises a glimmer of hope.  Ever so slowly I began speaking the promises of God into my situation.  As I dwell on the words of my promises I to begin speaking with authority and a Holy boldness. Thus, I begin to feel a calm assurance quieting my spirit.  Slowly I find myself beginning to arise from the pit of despair.  The thunder rolls and the lightening crashes, yet I desperately cling to a loving hand reaching down to me.  And suddenly out of the darkness I hear an all familiar voice speaking softly and quietly, “Peace be still”. (Mark 4:39), “(I) will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in (Me).” (Isaiah 26:3)

Then like a swift ocean wave, peace submerges my soul with a calm assurance that My Lord is in the midst and He’s in control of my situation.  And there at the midnight-hour, my soul finds rest in the hollow of God’s hand.  Yes, I now have hope and a sweet assurance…This too shall pass and tomorrow will be a brighter day.  Listen to this beautiful song …..

Til the storm passes over and the thunder sounds no more

Til the clouds roll forever from the sky

Hold me fast let me stand in the Hollow of Your Hand

Keep me safe til the storm passes by

Friendship, A Heavenly Gift

Oh My sweet, precious Friend
A heavenly gift sent my way
To make this journey along beside me
That leads us to Heaven’s Gate

May Gods tender love fill our hearts
Surround us with His Glory today
Blessing a friendship made in Heaven
I’m so thankful He sent you my way

So My Friend, take my hand, lean on me
For we know we will never be alone
For our Friendship is made in Heaven
Hand in hand we’ll make our journey home

Stand Strong

written by: Sandy Blaser, Healing Rain to the Nations

Yes, We live in a world of turmoil, but let us remember…Our God is greater than any of the world’s problems! No matter what you see, hear or feel…”do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27) Keep standing strong in Faith! Talk to the Lord and strengthen you prayer life. Study the Bible, Sing and Worship the Lord from the depths of your heart! Do not neglect doing so, for Prayer and Worship are our weapons of mass destruction against the devil! “Be alert and of sober mind. For your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8) Therefore, I urge you to prepare yourself “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13) Let us “Live by faith, not by sight,” yet taking a bold and courageous stand for what is right in the eyes of the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:7) Oh that the world may know Jesus!…

As you walk faithfully before Him “may the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7)

Ice Skating on the Pond

written by: Sandy Blaser, Healing Rain to the Nations

On this chilly morning I set bundled in a blanket watching the flames dance in the fireplace. My mind begin’s to drift through the pages of yesteryear’s.…

I can just hear my sweet Daddy’s voice of excitement waking me up for School…”Sis, it won’t be long till the ice on the pond is thick enough to Skate!”

As snowflakes began to fill the air, us kids would keep a watchful eye on the ole thermometer hangin’ on the front porch. When temps began dropping towards “0″, and winds got bitter cold, we knew it wouldn’t be long. Daddy would never let us kids on the pond until the ice was a certain thickness. Every morning Dad had to chop a waterhole for the cows, therefore he kept close watch on the thickness of the ice. Then came the moment we had been waiting for… the big “OK, Let’s Skate”!!

Sometimes Mom and Dad and even our old dog would join us kids!  We had no skates, but I had the next best thing…a pair of old black and white Saddle Oxford’s.  Them leather sole’s were mighty slick!

As the giggles rang throughout the Holler, the ole Cows gathered around in curiosity!  Oh what plain simple fun we had together there on that ole Pond.  For those moments in time, worries and concerns were left at the pond-bank as the air was filled with jOy and laughter and oh yes, even a few snowball’s!!

We skated till our fingers and toes we’re frozen numb. Then we headed to the old farmhouse where Momma’s steaming hot chocolate and a warm fire was awaiting us. Oh yes, I remember how bad the frozen fingers and toes hurt as they began to warm up! But oh…it was so worth it!! I will forever cherish my Family and all the sweet memories of the simple-life, growing up in the Holler!!

Jesus was the center of our Family life.  We depended upon the Lord for everything.  Below is a Favorite song our Family loved to sing together.  Come on and Lift you voice and rejOice!….Enjoy this beautiful old Gospel Song that was very much a part of my wonderful life in the Holler!   Be blessed!  ~San, Healing Rain to the Nations

Psalm 46.1a

Dear Friends,

Does it seem to you the world has done gone crazy? Now matter what we see or hear, let us remember this….
“God is our Refuge and Strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though it’s waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging—-There is a River whose streams make glad the city of God, the Holy place where the Almighty dwells….Yes, Nations will uproar, kingdoms will fall;…but the Lord Almighty is with us! HE says…“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Therefore, let us be steadfast on our Faith. Let us keep our eyes upon Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith. No matter what the future holds….we will not face it alone! For The Lord Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our Fortress! (Psalm 46:1-11).

So yes my Friends, we may not understand, but let us…. ”Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding: in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

In these perilous times I challenge you to let your Faith arise to new heights….For Christ Jesus is the Peace for today and the bright Hope for all our tomorrows! So no matter how high the waves may get…HE has everything under control! Amen & Amen!

Pearl of a Great Price

Written by: Sandy Blaser, Healing Rain to the Nations

The kingdom of Heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Matthew 13:45-46

The finest quality pearls have been highly valued as gemstones and objects of beauty for many centuries, and the word pearl has become a metaphor for something rare, fine, and admirable.

The making of a pearl is very irritating to an oyster and it takes an oyster somewhere between three and six years to produce a perfect pearl.  The process begins with a small piece of sand or other irritant entering the oyster.  The oyster then coats it with layers of nacre which, after years of this process, a beautiful pearl is formed. Theoretically, the longer a pearl has to develop, the thicker and deeper the coating of nacre and the higher quality of the pearl.

It is said that not all oysters produce perfect pearls naturally.  In fact out of every three tons of oysters, you are likely to find only three or four that make a perfect pearl.

Life is full of unexpected exasperations and like the sand in an oyster; God uses little irritations in our own personal lives to create inner beauty.  These irritations are a must in order for the Lord to bring about His unique design and purposes.  For it is all through the hurt, pain and ugliness, that oftentimes, God begins creating His radiance in us.

Going through trying times certainly is not pleasant, but God gives us a promise that we can “rejoice” even in our sufferings, (James 1) because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4).

When we embrace the struggle or irritation in our lives, then God faithfully uses it to make us into something beautiful.  But when we choose to run from or ignore our pain it is hard for us to learn from it and see God’s hand in it.  So it’s through embracing the tough times and trusting the Lord will ultimately help us become all God has designed us to be.

In Matthew 13, we see that a merchant sold all that he had to purchase a single pearl, but why, of all things, a pearl?  Interestingly, the only natural gemstone that has more value when it is found than when man finishes with it is the PEARL! And my friend, YOU are the PEARL of a GREAT PRICE, the Discovery of a Lifetime!

Enjoy this beautiful Worship song…..

John 6.68

His Healing Presence

Over the past years I have had some true heartbreaking moments that just shattered my heart to splinters. If I would have chosen to focus on those issues, I really believe I would not be alive this very moment. But I heard the gentle beckoning of my Saviors voice, calling me to come deeper with Him. As He drew me to His side, the world & all its cares seem to fade away. There in His healing presence I found release, forgiveness, and joy restored beyond measure! Can you hear Him calling?  Enjoy this beautiful song below….

“In Your Presence” by Paul Wilbur

Psalm 91

In the Shelter of His Wing…

Being raised on a farm was such a joy! Days were filled with all kinds of lessons of life. Even today I find much comfort in watching a Momma Chicken gathering her Baby Chicks under her wings! It reminds me…

He covers me with his feathers, and under his wings I will find refuge; his faithfulness is my shield and rampart. (Psalm 91:2-4) For the Lord is a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat. (Isaiah 25:4) When the enemy attacks and my back is against the wall, I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. (Psalm 91:2)

For there, In the shelter of His wing…I find so much comfort, protection, peace and rest for my weary soul.
